The Plough, Wissett
Originally a brewhouse since at least the 1830s, when owned by a John Phillips. In 1891, it was bought by the Southwold brewery, Adnams, but it was not until after the second world war that it acquired "public house" status and spirits could be sold on the premises. In 1979 Adnams sold the Plough, and it became a freehouse. The latest owners, Debbie & Nick Sumner, bought the pub in April 2007, and have initiated an annual beer festival based here.
