Market Place and East Street, Southwold
The varied frontage of the Swan Hotel, also shown in http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=7296672 , has developed from the late C18 to 1938. http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=484825 . Rather older is the lower building next door, dating from the late C17, which has, curiously, two blind windows on its upper floor alternating with casements http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=484817 . The narrow plum-coloured building beyond is also listed http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=484780 , as indeed are many of the town centre's buildings.

Southwold water pump
Southwold's now disused water pump stands in the town's market place.
Originally erected in 1873, it's not been in use since World War II.
