St Margaret of Antioch Church, Leiston
The church designed by Edward Buckton Lamb and was opened on August 31st 1854, by Bishop Blomfield of London, who had been born in Suffolk. It is on the site of an older church and retains the 14th century tower.

Leiston St Margaret?s church
The only thing of any age here is the 15th century tower. All that stands around it is mid 19th century and modern in comparison. It was privately funded by a grant, and the parishioners paid only for restoration of the tower. It is a cruciform church with the tower retained at the west end, designed by Edward Lamb and built in 1853. All around the church there are bands of Caen stone about 3 feet apart, dividing the flint infill, somewhat less noticeable now than when new. Inside, the nave has a double hammerbeam roof but it is the technical achievement of the crossing that is most impressive. The church has retained the original circular 13th century font and 17th century oak cover. The parish chest is a strange affair with a pyramidal lid.
