No Longer a Church
The village church of St Mary was built in 1936. Christian but non denominational, it was dedicated in 1938. A history on http://aldringham.onesuffolk.net/parish-past-and-present/a-history-of-st-mary-s-church-thorpeness/ says that it was out of use by the 1980s although there was a wedding blessing held there in 1996. It is now one more in the collection of unusual residences in Thorpeness.
