Ogilvie Almshouses
These are Grade II listed residences for estate staff. Built in 1926, by William Gilmour Wilson, for Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie who masterminded the Thorpeness village development. Almshouses
Modern Thorpeness was conceived by Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie in the early 20th century as a private holiday village. These are the almshouses built in the 1920s to a design of William Gilmour Wilson as accommodation for the estate staff.
