Combs village sign (detail)
The arch with the octagonal timber lantern astride the roof can be seen at Model Farm. In the lower section sheep can be seen grazing amongst the trees. Although Combs wasn’t one of the great wool parishes, sheep certainly played their part in the village’s past. Each side of the name is a small image, on the left, a tractor and on the right a sheaf of harvested corn confirming that the parish has an agricultural heritage. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4291617
