Eastbridge windpump at the Museum of East Anglian Life, Stowmarket
The windpump was originally at Eastbridge near Leiston. The pump was built in Beccles in the nineteenth century. It was erected on the current site in the 1980's.

Alton Watermill - Pit Wheel and Wallower
The horizontal and larger cog is the pit wheel, this is connected to the waterwheel. This turns the wallower on the main central shaft.

Alton Watermill - The Mill Complex
All three buildings here were moved from what is now Alton water Image The black building is the cart lodge, the mill of course in red and white and the millhouse is the brick building. Also amazing is that that are in their original positions. The only tell tale while looking is the placement of modern bricks in some places. Alton Watermill - The Governor
When running the two balls reflect the speed of the mill, the further out centrifugal force sends them the higher the iron bar moves. This bar is pivoted via the horizontal(ish) bar. The purpose is to alter the distance between the stones when milling, affecting the coarseness of the flour.
