Missing its tower
The church of St Andrew, Alderton, lost its tower one Sunday morning in 1821, when it collapsed during morning service. It had been progressively falling into disrepair over the previous hundred years. The ruined tower is overgrown with ivy, angelica and elder. The remaining church is still in use. http://www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/alderton.htm
