The village of Shingle Street
No shop or pub, just a postbox. The houses are mainly holiday homes, although a few hardy souls live here all the year round.

Suffolk Coast Path - Shingle Street
The path passes coastguards cottages and this row of bungalows and cottages behind the shingle beach. As for the plant, my thanks to geographer Jonathan Billinger for this identification: "It's Wild Cabbage, Brassica oleracea, a tamed version of which is oilseed rape."

Shingle Street: houses and Martello Towers
A picture taken on the sparkling, cloudless morning of Christmas Day. The massive cranes at Felixstowe container port, about eight miles away, just show above the woods on the left. They were rather more clearly visible to the bespectacled eye than they are in this photograph.
