Radio mast
The last surviving mast of the original Bawdsey 'Chain Home' radar station, although now carrying modern equipment that may be associated with the coastguard - the circular VHF direction-finding aerial on top is characteristic of HM coastguard stations.

The only remaining radar mast at Bawdsey
This mast was to have been dismantled but local public outcry saved it from the scrapyard. The antenna have been removed and it is less than it was but a memorial to the work of Robert Watson-Watt and the many others who developed Radar just in time for World War Two.
