B.C.W.M, Bentwaters Cold War Museum
The aircraft depicted on the sign is an A10 Tankbuster. Inside the compound there are missiles, a Phantom and a Harrier. The museum is open first and third Sundays during the summer months including the underground bunker.

Bentwaters Control Tower
The Bentwaters USAF base was closed in the 1980s and this control tower fell derelict, but it has evidently been treated to a major clean up and is looking as good as new. The runway is still used for a small number of flights, limited by the planning permission.

Bentwaters Control Tower seen across runway
The concrete blocks prevent use of one of the cross runways, or more importantly stop tractors towing trailers laden with agricultural produce from crossing an active runway, which runs right and left across this image.
