New groyne at South Felixstowe
This is Groyne 12 of the 21 new numbered groynes at South Felixstowe. A big yellow machine is currently levelling the sand and shingle that forms the new beachhead.

Repairing the promenade
As part of the £10m project to improve flood defences at South Felixstowe, thousands of tonnes of sand and shingle have been added to the beach and, as here, those parts of the concrete promenade that have been damaged in earlier storms, are being repaired.

Dodge and groyne, Felixstowe beach
Every August the custom car lovers of the UK gather at the Suffolk showground and parade to Felixstowe sea front. This US Dodge is not really a custom vehicle but was well restored.
The beach shows one of the latest attempts to prevent erosion.
