Kirton village sign
Kirton sign is of wrought iron and clever wire-work. Each side of the name are horseshoes recalling the importance of the local smithy as well as the heavy horse. Within the wire-work is the tower of St Mary and St Martin’s church, beyond the ploughed field, with trees and grasses, with a sugar beet, a much grown crop, in the foreground.
