Path Into Epping Forest, Essex
Leading away from Cross Roads; just down the hill from High Beach. An excellent, if undulating, path for walking. Also used by horse riders; I stood aside as three riders galloped their mounts uphill, just a few hundred yards down from this point. All very exciting; they were enjoying themselves, judging by the beaming smiles as they raced past me.

Biker's Tea Hut, near Robin Hood Roundabout, Epping Forest
This well known tea hut usually has a few motor bikes, and bikers, on show. At weekends and bank holidays this is used as a starting point for biker's tours. This is also known as "Min's Tea Hut", and as well as tea serves sandwiches, cakes etc. Also frequented by mountain bikers, car owners and forest walkers, there is clearly a regular social scene based round the hut.

Cross Roads, High Beach, Essex
Road junction, just down the hill from High Beach. The signpost indicates a right turn for 'High Beech' (note spelling). I don't know which is the correct spelling; all the maps show 'High Beach', which I have used. However, since Epping Forest contains a high proportion of beech trees, I would not be surprised to find that the place was originally named after the trees.
