Pavement parking on Burnley Road, Hebden Bridge
This location is just east of the town centre, on the main road heading towards Mytholmroyd. On this Saturday afternoon there were plenty of vehicle parked along the road, almost all being correctly parked on the carriageway. For reasons unknown the drivers of these vehicles have chosen to park on the footway.
Highway Code rule 244:
"You MUST NOT park partially or wholly on the pavement in London, and should not do so elsewhere unless signs permit it. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs or with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs".
