When this photo was taken the premises were occupied by the Hebden Dyeing and Finishing Company Ltd. This was one of the last textile processing firms in the area. The company ceased operations in 2009.

This is a dead end road at the end of which is the National Trust site and car parks at Hardcastle Crags. This is a popular recreational area for walking and off-road cycling.
