Top-and-bottom houses, Hebden Bridge
The arrangement of a house entered from the top road, above another entered from the lower road, is not unique to Hebden Bridge, but this town built on steep hillsides has plenty of examples. This row on Bridges Lane (top) / River Street (bottom) is listed grade II (list entry 1228915).

Stony Lane, formerly High Street, Hebden Bridge
It is difficult to imagine how this street looked until the 1960s, when the four-storey houses on the left, and the houses on the right, which had two storeys on this side and four facing Bridge Lanes, were demolished. The Calder Valley Community Land Trust is investigating whether some new houses can now be built on the land. They have produced a booklet with the history of the site and fascinating photographs of the old houses before and during demolition. http://caldervalleyclt.org.uk/
