Lock No 1, Rochdale Canal, Sowerby Bridge (2)
Looking eastwards we see the bottom lock at the eastward end of the Rochdale Canal. Beyond here is navigable water, as the Calder and Hebble Canal connects with the Yorkshire waterway system and eventually via the Trent to the main canal system. Wainhouse Tower is seen on the horizon.

Lock No 1, Rochdale Canal, Sowerby Bridge
Although restored, the lock was still not in use as the Rochdale Canal was still blocked above Lock No 2, just round the corner.

Mural, Holmes Road, Sowerby Bridge
A very colourful mural. I haven't been able to find any information about it. 'The Dumb Foundry' at top left should be a clue.
