The old police station, Victoria Road, Sowerby Bridge
This building of 1894 is now in at least its third use. Originally a police station, then a surgery when listed grade II in 1988 (list entry 1134481), but the police and surgery have both moved into new premises, and this would appear now to be a private dwelling.

New Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre, Sowerby Bridge
Looking west along Station Road. A new leisure centre and swimming pool are being constructed by Calderdale Council behind the yellow hoardings. This leisure centre will replace the one based on the Victorian Baths on Hollins Mill Lane. The site is the former market place which has been relocated to north of Town Hall Street a couple of years ago.

Old Police Station, Victoria Road, Sowerby Bridge
On the other side, fronting Station Road, there is an inscription 'Police Station 1894'. The police station has now moved next door to the former labour exchange of the 1930s.

Railway bridge over the River Ryburn, Sowerby Bridge
Looking northwards towards the confluence of the Ryburn with the River Calder.
The railway is the ex-LYR railway main line.
