Cote Hill Pumping Station
A pumping station in a building is shown here on the 1892 1:2500 map, adjacent to the Sowerby Bridge Water Works reservoir. The building was no longer shown on the 1963 edition This underground pumping station is presumably doing the same job as its 19C predecessor.

Water cascading down Windle Royd Lane
I was trying to walk up the hill to get to a wedding in the church, but ended up with wet feet where the pavement gives out a short way further up. This was on a day of prolonged heavy rain following 'Storm Eunice' on the 18th.
