Halifax FP441 off Woodside Mount,
After thinking carefully for about one second I decided not to try to walk this path. It is blocked by vegetation and descends very steeply. Not surprisingly there is no footpath sign.

Halifax FP441 at Old Lane
This is a strange path that is supposed to go up a very steep hillside to Woodside Mount, where it is impassable. It is shown on the council's on-line rights-of-way map but is barely visible on the 1:25000 map and not shown with a pecked line on any large-scale OS map that I have seen. There is no footpath sign.

Spiky tops were a feature of the Halifax and Elland areas and this is one of the few to survive.

Old Lane at the Northern End of Dean Clough Mill
Dean Clough Mill was the former base of Crossley's Carpet Manufacturers - a huge complex just north of Halifax Town Centre. Unlike many mills, the buildings have made a successful regeneration into office facilities, theatre and other enterprises.

Halifax Travelodge
Converted mill buildings complete with enormous chimney make this Travelodge rather different from the run of the mill roadside motels. See how Crossleys Chimney towers above the six storeys.

Dean Clough Mills - chimney
This magnificent chimney with a spiky top is about 300' and the best survivor in Halifax. It is seen behind the Premier Inn that is in part of the listed F Mill.
