Fish and chip shop, Savile Park, Skircoat, Halifax
'Lodge' on an old OS map; perhaps it was the park-keeper's house. I can imagine that it was turned into a café quite early in the 20C.

Skircoat Moor Road A646, Skircoat, Halifax
This crosses the common land of Skircoat, which was originally a separate township from Halifax. The freeholders of Skircoat sold their rights to Halifax Corporation on condition that it should always be available for public recreation. The lord of the manor was Capt. Henry Savile, and he asked only £100 although the moor was worth £40,000, and consequently it was named Savile Park.
