Stile onto Workhouse Slack from the Calderdale Way
Workhouse Slack is a strip of moorland that for some reason has not been included in the access land. It was not taken into the adjoining fields, perhaps because a stream runs through it and the land is very wet; maybe the land belonged to Midgley Workhouse. The public footpath enters the land at the western top corner, so is stranger that the stile is here in the eastern top corner. A waymark pole guides walkers towards the green strip to the right.
