At the junction with Bridlington Avenue (formerly St Paul's Street), the East Riding Hotel, No.37 Cannon Street, takes its name from the former East Riding Iron Works of the Hull Forge Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., established circa 1853, adjoining the public house immediately to the south. The pub closed for a time, reopening 2011.
