Tiumpan Head: the lighthouse
The lighthouse was built in 1900 and automated in 1985. Tolsta Head and, beyond, Cellar Head are visible to the far left.

Tiumpan Head Lighthouse
Tiumpan Head is located at the far eastern end of Point in Lewis. The lighthouse located here marks the western limit of the Minch. Designed by David and Charles Stevenson, it was first lit in December 1900. Still an active lighthouse today, it was automated in 1985.
It is a Category C listed building (LB19209 https://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB19209 Historic Environment Scotland).

Tiumpan Head Lighthouse
1900 lighthouse built at Rubha an T-Siumpain as a result of a request to watch out for illegal maritime activities. The buildings have now gone to the dogs - they are occupied by Tiumpan Head Kennels & Cattery - and you can hear the dogs!

Lighthouse at Tiumpan Head
Tiumpan Head is at the tip of the Eye peninsula. The lighthouse was built by Charles and David Stevenson and first shone in 1900.
