Carved stone post by the A438, in parish of Ledbury (District), Hereford Road; 50m East of the A438 roundabout, on embankment, on North side of road. Ledbury stone, erected by the Ledbury turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- TO LEDBURY 1 MILE HEREFORD 15½ MILES Grade II listed. Bridge crossing a former canal
When the railway line was built the arch on the right crossed the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal. It took many years to complete this canal, it finally reached Hereford in 1845, little more than ten years before the railway reach the city.
