Newmarket Tavern
The pub has gone and is now part of the Old Market's chain restaurant street. It was a popular music venue and also the place you did not want to go for a prematch drink, especially if you were not from Hereford.

Amid the construction work is a villa of 1812 by Charles Heather (converted to a pub in 1856-57). Grade II listed. On the site of the old livestock market, a big shopping centre was going up, Old Market. It looked better half-built than finished Image

Typical Hereford traffic on a Saturday afternoon in early August. The red, white and blue petunias look particularly good in spite of the weather in the summer of 2012.
