Down freight west of Seer Green
View eastward, towards London; ex-GW&GC Joint main lines, Paddington - Birmingham etc./Marylebone - Leicester - Sheffield. The Class F freight is headed by ex-GW No. 3043, one of the GC Robinson-design O4 2-8-0s built under Government contract for the military Railway Operation Division (ROD) in 1918-19 and acquired by the GWR in 1925: No. 3043 survived until 9/56. Note that the petrol tank-wagons are separated from the engine by two brake-vans.
