Footpath, Marrod's Bottom
The Marrod's Bottom road runs eastward down the valley, then turns sharply northward - into Fagnall Lane. This path continues eastward from the sharp bend, as a continuation of the alignment of the Marrod's Bottom road - suggesting that it was once a route of greater importance. (I say 'path', but there are in fact two of them, running roughly parallel with a bank between them - which again suggests that the route may have an interesting history). The paths run through a narrow belt of woodland (beech and hornbeam) which looks as if it may have sprung up in the last century or two - along some more ancient boundary.
