The 'Bottle Cottages', Coleshill
The name 'Bottle Cottages' is given in the Buckinghamshire volume of Pevsner's 'The Buildings of England' - I believe they are now known as 'Coleshill Cottages'. The bottles in question - or at least their bottom ends - figure as decoration high in the gables, where the date of building is given as 1809: Image
It looks to me as if the geometrical patterning of brick and flint (diapering) on the end wall was once more extensive - part having been lost when windows were fitted, part lost simply through wear and tear in the course of two centuries.

The Bottle Cottages: bottle decoration and terracotta tile
This pattern of bottle-ends appears (four times in all) high in the gable. There are also four tiles, each bearing the date 1809, and a set of initials each ending with 'F' - which I assume record the contributions of the various members of a single family.

The bend in the road...
The bend in the road... once a dangerous series of four almost 90 degree bends, the road has been modified to one long sweeping curve - with a 90 degree turn at the end of it.
