Chesham: Moor Road London Underground railway bridge
This is the west side of the bridge, which carries the single track railway over Moor Road and the reedy River Chess on the left. The railway line to Chesham was opened in 1889, so evidently the bridge, with its concrete decking and modern brick abutments and wing walls, is not original!
However old Ordnance Survey maps show that before the railway was built the river was much wider, and a substantial embankment, reducing the river width by about 80%, was built out across the river for the railway before the bridge span began. Please compare the maps for 1878 and 1898 on the Old-Maps website for illustration.

Attractive riverside location
I'm sure that is the sort of sales spiel that these flats would have had. But they are opposite an industrial estate beside the railway, so I wonder.

Chesham: Island House
Island House is on Moor Road and is currently the headquarters of the Inland Waterways Association. The River Chess is in the reedbed in front, while a parallel culvert takes the discharge channel from the long since demolished Bois Mill underneath the building to the rear, hence the name.

Old Bus Stop, Chesham, Bucks
Situated in Waterside near the railway bridge, this former London Transport bus stop, which dates probably from the 1960s, is still used by local bus services. Update: this bus stop has since been removed from this location.

Neptune at Canada Mill
Canada Mill is a new structure "Named in honour of this site's historical significance to the local trades of milling and woodware manufacture since the 1840s"
The quote is from a Chesham Town Council plaque on the wall at the far end. Appropriately, the mill is a showroom for Neptune, a furniture company.
The River Chess flows in front.
