Rising Sun at lock 55
This is the bottom of three locks at Berkhamsted. It is one of those pubs that if you are lock wheeling (going ahead to set the locks for the boat coming down the previous locks in a flight) you can open the paddles, nip in for a quick pint, have the lock ready, get the boat in and have your pint downed by the time the lock is empty. But as your boating colleagues will not thank you for that, the civil thing to do is to get the round in then moor below the lock to enjoy the pint and a lunch more leisurely.
