Grand Union Canal, Berkhamsted
The otherwise rather utilitarian bridge no 142, immediately below Ravens Lane Lock, has recently acquired this colourful sign. The modern name, Grand Union, came about only after a merger in 1929 of which the Grand Junction was a constituent part. A similar sign on the opposite side reads 'Port of Berkhamsted'.
