Normally worked by a Pacific, that day (Cup Final Day) the 'Merseyside Express' (10.00 Liverpool Lime Street (non-stop) to Euston) had Rebuilt 'Royal Scot' 7P 4-6-0 No. 46164 'The Artists' Rifleman' (built 9/30, rebuilt 6/51, withdrawn 12/62).
