Apsley marina
Built on the site of former wharves to Apsley paper mills. There are many high-quality apartments surrounding this marina. It helps the policy of keeping moored boats off the main canal, and provides housing attracting a premium price and thus income for British Waterways. Because this is on the towpath side, access to the marina for boats involves lifting this lift bridge, having no doubt closed all the relevant gates on the towpath for "elfin safety".
