Frogmore Mill
The Apsley Paper Trail is an excellent heritage attraction and has landed a major lottery grant to build a new visitor centre here. The staff are friendly, helpful and informative. I commend this to anybody interested in industrial heritage, paper, steam power or all of the above.

Frogmore Mills - Fourdrinier paper machine
This site was the first in the UK to use the Fourdrinier machine (not this one) and this remains in use and driven by a steam engine. This is the wet end of the machine with the drying rolls beyond.

Frogmore Mills - process plant
This preserved paper mill is still making recycled paper using a Fourdrinier machine driven by a steam engine. This was the first site in the UK to use a machine of this type and is of great historical significance. There are regular public guided tours of this site.
