Louisa Cottages in the snow
The very attractive Louisa Cottages on the corner of Park Road and Akeman Street are enhanced by a blanket of white snow making this image seem almost monochrome. The cottages were built as almshouses in two stages - in 1893 and 1901 - the nearest part seen here being the older. They were designed by the architect William Huckvale on behalf of the Rothschild Estate. See EH listing here https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1078003 See also Image] for a view of them in warmer weather.

Akeman Street, Tring
An interesting street of old, mixed frontage terrace buildings, now nearly all residential. But you don't have to look hard to find what look like former shops and pubs, and in behind are various yards and maltings, now also all housing, but suggesting that this was once a busy working part of town.
