Frozen pond, Sutton Court, Tring
This little oval pond is in the courtyard area of Sutton Court to the north of the church in Tring. As can be seen, snow and ice have formed interesting patterns while the fountains continue gamely to squirt. In fact the watery jets maintained their flow during the cold period and the ice columns around them became more and more impressive, as can be seen in later photos. Image] Image]

Ice columns from fountains, Sutton Court, Tring
Taken two and a half weeks after Image], the columns of ice formed around the fountains in the pond continued to accumulate. Amazingly the fountains themselves continued to jet water. SS Peter & Paul's church can be seen in the background. For a close-up of one of the columns see Image]
