Hidden Lake, Tring
Almost covered over by trees and shrubs, the lake which runs for a couple of hundred yards alongside Icknield Way in Tring can be glimpsed at the bottom of this photograph. The lake gives its name to a nearby road "Lakeside". For a better view of the lake see Image]

Swans on little lake
Two swans were gliding about on Image The rearward of the two can be seen clearly here, while the "leader" can only be glimpsed as a bit of white behind the undergrowth. The house in the background is on Eggleton Drive which is part of the comparatively recent Image] development. See also Image]

Heron in the trees
This heron had been flying up and down Image], unfortunately I couldn't take a clear photo of it in flight due to the trees and leaves, but was able to get this shot once he alighted. I think the leaves seen here are sycamore (though they could be another maple species).

A Double Rainbow over Mill View Road, Tring
This was taken a few minutes after a very short but sharp shower had passed by. The rainbow reaches down to the ground almost vertically - indicating that the picture was taken just before sunset.

Rainbow over Christchurch Road, Tring
A sharp shower and a setting sun means that the rainbow points straight down into the ground - but as always - the pot of gold must have been at the other end of the rainbow.
