It?s a footpath - the sign says so !
Though it doesn’t look like one in this photo. A sign is seen on the edge of a ploughed field seen off King’s Lane. Out of shot, a diagonal path crosses the field downhill.

Footpath notice along King's Lane
The Chiltern Way should cross the road just here but along with a lot of other footpaths in the area it's been closed because of the HS2 train line.
The Chiltern Society have produced a map showing what's open and what's not, which is displayed on the gate here.
