Paralympic Logo, Stoke Mandeville Hospital
The three crescent symbol of the Paralympic Games stands on a roundabout at the way in to the hospital site. This was where, in 1948, a group of injured WW2 service people took part in the first organized games for the disabled which grew into the worldwide Games we know now.
