Grand Union Canal: Aylesbury Arm: Reach in Aylesbury
This is the view from the Highbridge footbridge. The terraced houses on the right form part of Coronation Villas, an interesting Victorian terrace of 28 properties whose front doors are accessed from the canal towpath, not a road.

Bridge 19, Aylesbury Arm, Grand Union Canal
The last bridge. It is a modern structure made from steel box sections. There always was a footbridge here, it appears to have been a lattice structure with steps up and down rather like a railway footbridge.

Grand Union Canal: Aylesbury Arm: Bridge No 18
Bridge Number 18 is Walton Bridge and carries the A41 over the canal. Bridge Number 17, the Park Street Bridge, is the one in the distance.
The available opening for boats is particularly narrow under this bridge and your photographer has to report the tragic loss of a beer glass complete with contents that was swept off the roof of the boat by overhanging branches in trying to avoid the vegetation on the left side at the far end...
Alas the current (2009) version of the Nicholson's Guide comes completely off the rails with its bridge numbering approaching the basin at Aylesbury with this bridge being ignored completely, and with Number 18 being assigned to the Highbridge Road footbridge. This is all the more unfortunate as they write a specific warning about the narrowness of Bridge Number 18...
