The headquarters of this housing association. It is independent but I presume it took over the former council housing stock.

A multiple roundabout is ahead. The middle one especially can be a bit disconcerting if you don't know it.

The Britannia (1), 9 Buckingham Road, Aylesbury, Bucks
A large pub on the corner of Buckingham Road and New Street. In recent years it has had a chequered history, having closed twice in 2013. In 2014 it re-opened as a live music pub but closed again after a few months. When photographed in late October 2014 it appeared that its owners Punch Taverns had sold the property. The Britannia (2), 9 Buckingham Road, Aylesbury, Bucks
The Britannia has been a public house since at least 1861, when its publican appeared in the Census of that year. When photographed in late October 2014 it was closed but apparently sold. Other photographs, please see:- Image

The Britannia (4) - sign, 9 Buckingham Road, Aylesbury, Bucks
The sign is on a post outside the pub on its Buckingham Road frontage. The pub was in existence by 1861 and could be older. In those days many people could not read or write, so pubs and inns were usually given names which would easily be identified when pictured on their sign. The character of Britannia, used on Victorian coins and later ones, would be instantly recognisable. Unfortunately the sign is slightly obscured by the remains of a poster which was fixed to it and then removed, but not completely. The other side was even more disfigured.
