Rear of Town Hall, Aylesbury
Part of a grade II*(star) assembly of former municipal buildings, this is described as the Town Hall, but is very small in itself, as the archways take up nearly all the ground floor. It was also a way in to the old Corn Exchange. This is the back of the 1865 building, the front is a good deal more ornate. This side was rebuilt in brick above the arches after the 1962 fire. This fire burnt down the corn exchange and the rest of the town hall, so it was evidently bigger once - this must have been to the right.
