Aylesbury: Stocklake Industrial Estate electricity pylon
This is the terminal pylon at the end of a short high voltage electricity distribution line from a substation near Burcott. This type of tower is unusual in having a permanent maintenance platform. The houses in the background are on the road called Stocklake.

Aylesbury: Aqua Vale Swimming and Fitness Centre
This facility in Vale Park was opened on 15 September 2001. With the aid of Lottery financing the cost was £9.8 million. The Centre has three swimming pools, an eight lane 25 metre competition pool complete with movable floor, an indoor leisure water pool with a lazy river and an interactive flume, and a heated outdoor pool which is available for use throughout the year.

Branch train to Cheddington at Aylesbury (High St.) on the Last Day
View SW, towards the buffer-stops: ex-LNW terminus of the branch from Cheddington. On the Last Day of passenger services, Saturday 31/1/53 before formal closure on 2/2/53, one of the last trains back to Cheddington is headed by ex-LNW Webb (1890 design) 5'6" 1P 2-4-2T No. 46601, which survived until 10/53.

Aylesbury High Street Station (remains), with RCTS Rail Tour train
View southward, towards buffer-stops. This terminus of the ex-London & North Western branch from Cheddington was already closed to passengers (from 2/2/53), but remained for goods until 2/12/63. However, the RCTS (Railway Correspondence & Travel Society) were able to include the branch in their complex 'Buckinghamshire Rail Tour' of 10/10/54, the motive power being ex-London & North Western 'Coal Tank' 2F 0-6-2T No. 58887.

Site of Aylesbury High Street station, 1991
View NE from A418 Tring Road, former terminus of the ex-LNWR branch from Cheddington, which went off to the right. The station was closed to passengers 2/2/53, but remained for goods until 2/12/63. The pile of bricks was all that remained in 1991.
