Footpath from Buckingham Road to Northern Road, Aylesbury
There is no made surface, and for its entire length it would have been quite soggy and muddy were it not for it being largely crisped up with frost. At least it has had last season's growth cleared here, as far as rubbish allows.

Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital (Buckinghamshire Infirmary)
Founded as a private subscription hospital in 1832 in response to a cholera epidemic. The current building dates from 1862 and the design was influenced by Florence Nightingale. The building was used as an Auxiliary Hospital during the Great War. Later used as a General Hospital and spinal injury unit it has reverted to a private hospital.

The Britannia (4) - sign, 9 Buckingham Road, Aylesbury, Bucks
The sign is on a post outside the pub on its Buckingham Road frontage. The pub was in existence by 1861 and could be older. In those days many people could not read or write, so pubs and inns were usually given names which would easily be identified when pictured on their sign. The character of Britannia, used on Victorian coins and later ones, would be instantly recognisable. Unfortunately the sign is slightly obscured by the remains of a poster which was fixed to it and then removed, but not completely. The other side was even more disfigured.
