Tree with Remembrance labels, Prestwood (1)
Taken in Nairdwood Lane on Remembrance Sunday 2018, this photo shows a tree with hand knitted poppies and thirty five labels mentioning soldiers from Prestwood and the surrounding area who died during World World I (1914-1918). These will probably be removed shortly after this photo is taken.

Seat with Commemorative Poppies in Prestwood
Taken at the corner of High Street and Nairdwood Lane, this seat has hand knitted poppies making the words "LEST WE FORGET" which are taken from the poem "Recessional" by Rudyard Kipling. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/46780/recessional refers. Each of the thirty five poppies refers to a soldier from Prestwood and the surrounding locality who died during World War I (1914-1918). As this display was erected to mark the ending of World War I one hundred years ago on Monday 11th November 1918, it will probably be removed shortly.

Poppy Display in Prestwood
Taken at the corner of High Street and Nairdwood Lane, this photo shows a display of hand-knitted poppies on a shrub, a drawing of a soldier and poppies on a post to the right, two small wreaths of poppies on metal posts and a seat with poppies spelling the words "Lest We Forget". This display was to mark the ending of World War I on Monday 11th November 1918, one hundred years ago. The blue signpost on the right of the photo refers to the National Cycle Network route 57 giving distances of 3 miles to Great Hampden and 5½ miles to Princes Risborough.

Tree with Remembrance labels, Prestwood (2)
Taken in Nairdwood Lane HP16 0NH near High Street, this tree has hand knitted poppies and thirty five labels on its branches. Each label has a name and photo of a person from Prestwood and the surrounding area who died during World War I (1914-1918). They were fixed to commemorate Remembrance Sunday 2018, exactly one hundred years after the end of World War I.

Complete Road Closure in Prestwood High Street (2)
This photo shows Prestwood High Street being closed for road works taking place between Wednesday 13th September and Friday 15th September 2023. Unfortunately, this has meant that buses on route 41 between Amersham and High Wycombe have had to divert to other roads in Prestwood due to this closure. Update: these road works were completed on Thursday afternoon 14th September 2023, so enabling buses on route 41 to resume working in Prestwood High Street and Wycombe Road.

The Pantry at 51 Caf? & Refill Shop, Prestwood
Located at 51 High Street HP16 9EJ, this café and refill shop was opened by two local mothers on Wednesday 12th February 2020 with the purpose of people dropping in to have refreshment and to refill items such as dry goods and liquid items. Further information about this shop is on the Prestwood Village Association website https://prestwoodva.org.uk/new-cafe-and-refill-shop-opening-in-prestwood/ refers. At the left side of the shop is the wording "Cafe & Refill Shop, Reduce-Reuse-Recycle". Next to this café and refill shop is PEMS the newsagents.
