Part of Lodge Lane, Prestwood, Bucks
I had just driven down Lodge Lane to locate Cherry Cottage, a former home of Clement Attlee, the famous post-war Prime Minister. And driving back I thought how happy Attlee might be if he could see this road today; nice housing for nice well educated citizens who have benefited from the NHS, state education, economic growth, home ownership and decent communities - all principles he espoused and advocated.

Rear of Cherry Cottage, Prestwood, Bucks - home of an ex Prime Minister
Built for Clement Attlee, post-war PM and "the best Prime Minister of the 20th century". Nice place, and modest, like the man. A great man.

Wren Road, Prestwood in the snow
Taken earlier today, this photo shows Wren Road looking South towards Lodge Lane following heavy snow. Unfortunately, this road, like other residential roads in Prestwood, hadn't been gritted so making it difficult to drive along it. The postcode of this part of Wren Road is HP16 0SB.

Beacon on Prestwood Common
This photo shows a beacon that has been lit up on Prestwood Common to mark the 2022 Platinum Jubilee. It was one of several beacons being lit throughout the country to mark the Queen's 70 year reign. The metal beacon comprises of an old washing machine drum. Some spectators are looking on keeping at a safe distance. The Prestwood Community Centre can be seen in the background.
