Missing Bus Stop in High Street, Great Missenden
This photo shows the bus stop in the High Street outside The Cloisters housing development. However, there is no bus stop across the road near Whitefield Lane although its position is shown on the Carousel Buses website at https://www.carouselbuses.co.uk/services/CSLB/41. It is to be hoped that one will be installed soon, particularly for children coming from the nearby Misbourne School who want to use the Route 41 bus that goes to High Wycombe via Prestwood and Great Kingshill.

Great Missenden: Missenden Abbey
This is the southern façade of the abbey taken from the park. The Abbey is Grade II Listed and the Historic England website describes it as "a former country house incorporating the fabric of an Augustinian abbey plus late phases of remodelling; now in use as a management & adult education centre." Wikipedia states that "the building was designated Grade II listed on 10 March 1983. However, in 1985 the building was destroyed by fire. The house was "gutted". Among that destroyed was the "15th or 16th century roof of the East range", which was "a rare survival of a monastic roof". The building was reconstructed following the fire, with some of the interiors remodelled. The abbey has been owned by Buckinghamshire New University since the mid-1990s. It is now used as a conference centre and also used for weddings."

Missenden Abbey
Missenden Abbey was an Augustinian monastery founded in 1133 in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom. It was ruined in the Dissolution of the Monasteries and the ruins later incorporated into a Georgian mansion. This view is from a good few years ago, taken across Warren Water, the ornamental lake created on the River Misbourne. From a print. Date approximate.
