Green at Stokenchurch
A lovely green opposite the King's Hotel car park, with the trees still just about showing an autumn display even though the rain of the last few days has caused many leaves to fall.

The Kings Hotel, Stokenchurch
Close to the A40. At first glance this looks like a substantial Georgian building - but looking more closely I found details that reminded me of a 1930's town-hall (and notice the range at the back). The hotel's own web-site says the name commemorates a visit by Charles II. It is possible that the present building incorporates parts of an earlier one, but it is clear from photos on the hotel's website that the building which stood here a century ago was much smaller: http://kingshoteluk.com/history.php.
